Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between mean and median?
The mean is the sum divided by the count; the median is the middle value of the sorted list. The median is much less affected by a few extreme values.
How do I calculate an average?
Add all the numbers and divide by how many there are. The average of 4, 8 and 12 is (4 + 8 + 12) / 3 = 8.
