Concrete Volume Calculator
Calculate how much concrete you need for a slab or footing. Free, fast and easy to use.
How it works
Multiply length, width and thickness to get the volume in cubic meters, then add 5–10 % for spillage and uneven ground. The weight estimate assumes about 2,400 kg per cubic meter of ordinary concrete.
Formula
V = L × W × D weight ≈ V × 2400 kg/m³
Worked examples
- Length (m): 10 · Width (m): 6 · Thickness / depth (m): 0.2 · Waste allowance (%): 5 → Volume: 12 m³
- Length (m): 0.5 · Width (m): 0.5 · Thickness / depth (m): 1 · Waste allowance (%): 10 → Volume: 0.25 m³

Frequently asked questions
How much concrete do I need for a 10 × 6 m slab?
With a thickness of 20 cm: 10 × 6 × 0.2 = 12 m³, plus 5 % reserve gives about 12.6 m³.
How much does 1 m³ of concrete weigh?
Ordinary concrete weighs about 2,300–2,400 kg per cubic meter.
